 I am a classically trained oil painter, though art in many forms has fascinated and challenged me all of my life.
As early as I can remember I have been drawing, painting, sculpting and carving. As an events designer, my art interest shifted to creating atmosphere with dramatic floral arrangements and to developing photography skills to capture and document those special occasions.
This lifelong journey has brought me back to painting. My fascination with detail (and beautiful flowers) led me to a concentration and exploration of the world of classical realism in oil painting.
For the past nine years I have been studying and painting full time, and have been fortunate to have been mentored by two artists in particular who I consider to be modern masters and who have encouraged and inspired me to continue to learn and to develop my skills as an artist.
Every day I am fascinated with the beauty of the world that surrounds us and marvel in gratitude at those special moments when I am drawn into a "secret world" that only exists on an unconscious level when my brain turns off and spirit takes over.
I believe in using only the finest quality art materials available, not only paints and mediums, but also in the Belgian linen that I purchase for my canvases.
Giclees of my paintings are available after the original is sold.
